About Beacon BNI

Beacon BNI meets at Loch Fyne, Mere Green - an ideal location for businesses in Sutton Coldfield, North Birmingham, Tamworth and South Staffordshire. We are part of Business Networks International (BNI) - the largest organization of it's type in the world.

Welcome to your new Sales Team

Being active in BNI is like having an unpaid sales team working for you, because your fellow members will be carrying your cards and referring your business to people they meet, without you having to pay them any salaries or commission. You'll be doing the same - and exchanging referrals with each other every week.

Successful businesses depend on 'word-of-mouth' marketing as the best form of promotion there is.

Beacon BNI provides a structured, supportive, business environment in which local business people can get together to network, learn valuable new marketing skills and develop the strong personal relationships that lead to trust and the consequent generation of significant business for each other.

Lock out your competitors

We only allow one business person from any particular business category to join our group: that means that, unlike other networking meetings where there might be a dozen of your competitors in the room, you have a privileged position to sell your services.

The most important meal of the day

We meet at breakfast because we want to make the best use of your time. The meeting starts at 7am, and finishes at 8:30am: this means that your commitment to our meeting doesn't get in the way of your working day.

Efficiency and timings are maintained because every BNI meeting follows a structured 20 point agenda. If you attend a BNI meeting in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, the United States or anywhere else, you will find all meetings follow exactly the same format, using exactly the same agenda.

The 60-second Pitch

At the heart of the BNI meeting is the "60 Second Speech" slot. This is each member's opportunity to tell everyone at the meeting all about their business, the kind of leads they are looking for, and anything at all that will help the other members generate business for them.

As a visitor to our meeting we will ask you to deliver a 60-second pitch just like ours. We recommend you plan this before you arrive. Try the following structure for your speech:

  • Name, company name, and profession
  • Your unique selling points / why we can refer business t you with confidence
  • What leads you would ideally like (the more specific you are the better - ask for anybody, you might get nobody!)
  • A reminder of your name, company name, and profession

Don't feel uncomfortable about the 60-second presentations: there is nothing to be nervous about, as we all want to hear about your business and want you to do well! In fact nervous public speakers often benefit a lot from BNI membership as their confidence grows week by week each time they present to the meeting.
